David O’Sullivan
David has spent the past 20 years predominantly farming sheep, beef and deer across Canterbury and Otago, after completing a Diploma in Farm Management. In the past seven years, adjusting his focus into a more regenerative approach to farming and land management.
In this time he has also managed and prepared a cropping farm for sale, managed a 6,500ha regeneration project on a high country station in Hawea, and managed a unique project in Glenorchy for a Chinese family, where pest control, building and fencing were the core focus as the aim was to let 90% of the property regenerate into native beech forest, and used 10% to investigate multiple high value, low volume crops, organically, for human health.
For the last year, David has been developing a 50ha cherry orchard near Cromwell while developing his own service business in the space of Land and Lifestyle Solutions, while joining up with Becks Smith and Dunstan Brook-Miller in the creation of Solayer - developing integrated agricultural solar solutions.
