FAQs

cAN i ATTEND FOR JUST ONE DAY?

We are only offering two day tickets to the event this year as its a small pilot event. All general admission tickets are for entry on the 19th and 20th of February 2025. There will be transport both days from Ōtautahi Christchurch.

What’S InCLUDED IN MY TICKET PRICE?

We have tried to pack a tonne of value into your ticket price. The general admission ticket gives you entry to the festival for two days 19 & 20 February. You’ll get access to a huge amount of knowledge, inspiration and practical tips in the field of soil, farming, health and regeneration, learning from a cohort of incredible minds.

Also included in the ticket price is a complimentary final feast! The Food By Fire team are putting together a “Regen To Market Last Supper” to fill our bellies before we hit the road home.

Parking on-site is free. Camping on-site is $30 extra (to help cover the cost of compost loos and showers).

Will there be any transport available from Christchurch?

We are planning to arrange a bus to and from Christchurch each morning and evening. Please tick the box in the form at the checkout if you’d like to book a bus ticket. It will leave from central Christchurch. Bus tickets will be available to purchase soon, check back for info.

cAN i BRING MY CHILDREN?

While we would like to see all generations come and learn about the wonders of soil in a farm setting, this event is only suitable to children above the age of 12. There is a ticket option for 12-18 year olds (this includes the closing feast). Babies under 6 months old are welcome at no additional cost. All children must be supervised at all times. The vineyard is a working farm with waterways and various hazards.

Can I bring in my own alcohol?

The venue is not licensed for attendees to bring their own alcohol. There will be a bar onsite selling local craft beer, Greystone wine, a special UNDERGROUND brew and non-alcoholic options. It will be open in the evening on Wednesday and over lunch on the Thursday. We promote responsible drinking.

What food will be available?

In our pilot year, we are aiming to have an emphasis on food that is sourced from local (Canterbury), organic, regenerative or Māori-owned/Hua parakore producers whereever possible. And from the soil, of course.

North Canterbury legends, Food by Fire, will be serving up a feast with their pizza truck and Asado BBQ. We’ll be working with local bakeries using local grains. There’ll be a host of options - including fresh produce, coffee and ice-cream - to keep you fuelled and cooled in the summer heat.

Can I bring a dog?

Sorry, aside from service animals, no pets allowed.

Where is the Event being held?

UNDERGROUND is being held at Greystone Winery at 376 Omihi Road, Waipara 7483. The location of the festival when onsite will be well signposted, so please follow the signs.

i can’t come now, can I get a refund on my ticket?

We won’t be issuing refunds. Tickets can however be transferred into another name. Please read the ticket T&Cs on the ticketing page.

What accommodation options are there?

There is camping available on-site. You’ll need to book this as space is limited. It can cater to caravans, campervans and tents. There won’t be power available in the campsite, it’ll be a fully off-grid set-up.

A limited number of glamping sites will be available should a tent not fit in your checked baggage;). These will be bell tents with mattresses. Double down with a friend, there’s plenty of space in them.

There are also camping grounds nearby, many AirBnBs and some farm stays. North Canterbury is a beautiful and hospitable region, make the most of it and see what’s out there.

What time does the camp-site open & will it have power?

The campsite opens the night before the festival on Tuesday 18th February. We encourage you to come and stay the night before. The camping ticket is for two nights. Tuesday and Wednesday. Campsite opens at 6pm on Tuesday evening.
