Danny donaghy
Danny Donaghy is the Professor of Dairy Production Systems at Massey University and leads the Whenua Haumanu programme, a seven-year partnership between the Ministry for Primary Industries and Massey University that began in 2022.
The Whenua Haumanu programme brings together organisations from throughout the research and primary sectors to investigate the effects of different pasture bases and management approaches under dairy, sheep, and sheep and beef farmlets; measuring and monitoring a wide range of outcomes across soils, pastures, environment, production and product quality. Danny pioneered the study of plant energy levels as a tool for guiding rotational grazing, and previously led and managed dairy research, development and extension as Dairy Centre Leader at the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture.
