Chloë Dear
Chloë’s life has gone full circle: coming from a rural Southland background growing up with goats, sheep and parents interested in self-sufficiency followed by a degree in agriculture and ecology in the days when this was considered distinctly odd, she is now manager of Quorum Sense.
In between, Chloë spent several years working with women farmers in Nepal and Ethiopia then twenty years as a street theatre, circus and outdoor festival producer in Europe with a slant towards large-scale productions. She came back to NZ in 2012 to take up the role of head of events production at Christchurch City Council and, at the same time, Director of NZ IceFest – the city’s then Antarctic Festival.
This was followed by a return to her agricultural roots, joining QS in 2021. When not staring at a computer screen, she is found on her small farm with her flock of dairy ewes, numerous goats and a menagerie of other animals.
